James Thurston

James first experienced The FSL Leadership Basic in May 2001 and was immediately moved by the depth of awareness, the profound insights and the incredible breakthroughs available through participating in the course. James’ FSL Leadership Intensive course started on September 11, 2001, a day that changed this planet and his life forever. In the Leadership Intensive James woke up to his dreams and developed the confidence and the courage to live into them. Words can barely express the gratitude James experiences to be able to share his gifts and make a difference in the lives of others.

James has had the honour and privilege of facilitating personal growth and leadership development workshops and seminars since 2003. A highly sought after speaker and facilitator, James has taught FSL Basic classes in the Greater Toronto Area, London and Windsor, Ontario as well as in upstate New York, in both Rochester and Albany. Teaching both FSL Leadership Basic and FSL Intensive seminars James considers it to be his life’s purpose and absolute honour to inspire leaders who inspire leaders who inspire leaders…

A dynamic and versatile presenter, James is also a corporate CPR and First Aid trainer, who consistently delivers energetic, humorous, and entertaining classes throughout Ontario.

An alumnus of Sir Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, James earned his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997, majoring in English and Philosophy, with a minor in Sociology.

A former member of Toastmasters International from 2005 – 2010, James has won several awards for speech giving and impromptu speaking, including 1st place in the Division D International Speech Competition and 2nd in the District 86 Humourous Speech Contest in 2008.

James is the father of three children and also now proudly wears the name of Grandpa. He lives just outside of Toronto with his partner, Shasa, whom he met during his Toastmaster experiences.
